Yeguada Roja

Yeguada Roja is located in the Catalan village of Canyelles, 20km from Barcelona and is easily reached by most forms of transport. Our livestock was founded in the year 2000 by the love the owners have for horses in general and the Spanish Purebred Horses (PRE) in particular.

We have been breeding Spanish Purebred Horse for just a few years but thanks to our acquired experience (which also includes learning from our errors), professional advice, a lot of dedication and passion, we have defined our own model of breeding horses. We want to raise our Purebred Spanish Horses to be functional, with powerful bone structure and quality movements.

This is why in Yeguada Roja we have a maximum of 6-8 mares. Currently we breed Postinera XV Perdiguera VIII, Simpática XI, Remadora IX, Estrella LIX and End Sopresa of the same genetical origen (see section “PRE Stud”) They have good morphology combined with excellent movements. They are sired by our PRE Stallion Hercules XX (see PRE Stud ). He is a PRE horse with magnificent self-assurance and well-grounded, with exceptional withers, a long and functional neck an excellent back. Thanks to his morphology and innate strength the movements of Hercules XX are breath-taking. What is also decisive for us, is that his offspring inherit the best characteristics of our stallion: unbeatable in all movements, excellent self-assurance, a very good upper line, and of course, his good character.

Yeguada Roja is a farm covering 10 hectares, which is exclusively dedicated to PRE Horses. It is fitted out with the most modern systems for breeding and the healthy growth of excellent PRE Horses: well-lit and ventilated boxes for stallions, with excellent views. The PRE mares live separately to the stallions in big fields. For working with our horses, we have 2 arenas, an open-air arena of 65m by 24m and an indoor arena of 20m by 40m with areas for preparation, shower areas and drying facilities.

To optimate our breeding conditions, Yeguada Roja counts on and gives thanks to the excellent work of professionals in the sector like Pablo Serra Fortuny, our vet, Toader Scridon an excellent blacksmith, Matilde Duch, our dental surgeon and our physiotherapist Toni Ramon. Apart from the care and work that surrounds our horses, their feed is undoubtedly a key factor in our stud farrm and there we count on the very complete horse food of Dynavena and the quality of 'Pujol' fodder.
